Travel By Rail

Travel by rail is a comfortable and convenient way to experience the beauty of Alaska. Rail service is offered daily from mid-May to mid-September. The Alaska Railroad offers both standard and gold star service on the Denali Star route between Anchorage and Fairbanks and the Coastal Classic route between Anchorage and Seward. The Alaska Railroad also offers transportation to cruise passengers arriving in or departing from Whittier. Alaska Rail Tours offers private dome car rail transportation between Anchorage and Denali. The McKinley Explorer cars are deluxe private cars with service between Anchorage and Denali.
